I think the reasons viewers didn't complain is a good indication that they don't expect the BBC to get up to tricks like this. Our national broadcaster has always been expected to be impartial. I can't believe it's being defended, no matter who the subject of the manipulation is.

I don't doubt there's a lot of internal politics going on. I also don't doubt that much of MSM is having to adapt to a very fast changing world of communication. What I don't like though is the BBC seemingly sinking downwards to go with the flow. Edit.... probably should have said...

The BBC is our national broadcaster. And, as such, should be on a different level.

I love the BBC for the institution it has been and for the coverage it has given us over the years. I also think the license fee is incredible value for such events. However, this latest shit is bloody scandalous.
