Re: New Contracts
I have to admit that things involving our club just get weirder and weirder by the week. Insure ourselves against having to pay bonuses!!!!!!
I wonder what kind of insurer would take that one on? Although, as they say: 'there's no such thing as a free lunch', so we must have...
As there's still no announcement on the makeup of the squad is it possible they are waiting for the world cup to kick off so that the story gets buried? If so, it implies we are going to get off lightly and UEFA don't want the masses to notice. If it was a severe punishment they would want...
When I heard Malcolm Glazer had died I just assumed everything would simply carry on as before, but the obituary in the times (posted on BM somewhere) made me think.
Apparently the bloke was odd to say the least. Fell out with his mother and siblings and so on. The children are likely to take...

It gets posted about every 10 pages in this thread going back a couple of years.
Not saying it isn't true, or that it can't be, or that some good reasons for and against haven't been posted, but its very much in the 'I'll wait for...
Re: City & FFP (continued)
I think what Mr. Sole is saying is that as ffp is specifically designed to ensure that no clubs run into financial difficulties again you may rest assured that the desperate scenarios you envisage can no longer happen.
Om behalf of all on Bluemoon I would like to...
Re: City & FFP (continued)
The second one first; FFP only covers the top 4 (or is it 2) leagues.
As for the first question, I'm sure there are straightforward provisions for this within the regulations, but I haven't taken much notice of domestic ffp. That said, I would have thought that the...
According to reports, they are 'no longer interested in' Fabregas. Apparently van Gall isn't keen. I'm sure its just coincidence that they no longer want him at the very time they may actually be able to get him.
Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont
In fairness, a good call. Didn't he declare himself a lifelong president or something just before his fingers were prised off the jam and the door slammed in his face...
Re: Yaya Toure
I said something similar about fifty pages back, this thing only makes sense if you look for the bits which are obviously missing. The agent's comments sound more like a reaction to what had or was already happening, and he made a complete hash of it because he's a tool. Its...
Re: Yaya Toure
I'd be surprised if the club didn't know what this was about. And probably knew it before the agent went to the press.
I've a suspicion the club have quietly 'handled' the situation behind the scenes and that's why 99.9% of the public only know about the cake (or lack of).
Re: Yaya Toure
There are a lot of assumptions in this thread. Some are safe assumptions, like this whole thing isn't about cakes, handshakes or veyrons. But as mad as the whole saga seems, I couldn't help thinking it would make sense if looked at in the right light.
Some things we do know are...
Its a clever idea, if not entirely unique outside football. However, it does pose some interesting questions about the relationship between Rooney and United. They must be certain of keeping him there no matter what (ie no matter what van Gaal wants). They are probably skewing player purchases...
Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont
I seem to remember reading it should have been ready for August as you say, but that it got slightly delayed and won't be finished now until October.
I think the same info (probably in this thread) said that October was the end...
