Jack Grealish - Everton on loan

Grealish was a decent player. Never even close to a £100 million player, but decent.

    Newcastle United thread | 2025/26

I remember watching City in the 90s, getting beat by (among others) Barnet, Barnsley, Oldham, Bury, Lincoln City, Wycombe Wanderers. Genuinely believed I could go my whole life without seeing City win a thing. So an off season is something I can live with.

Lots of players match that description and he is definitely one of them

The Piccadilly Gardens Problem - new development proposal (P32)

He did. He believed in the "broken windows theory" i.e., if even small crimes are tolerated, it spreads to more serious crimes. Things like fare dodging and petty vandalism, if unpunished, give criminals the confidence to commit more serious crimes.

The Piccadilly Gardens Problem - new development proposal (P32)

If you jail the criminals then no. Preventative detention works. Ask El Salvador where they went from the most dangerous country in the Americas to one of the safest, purely by locking up anti-social elements.

    Russian invasion of Ukraine

Russia is getting lots of artillery from North Korea. Prior to getting nukes, North Korea used masses of artillery guns pointed at Seoul as its main threat. Once they got nukes, they use nukes/missiles instead, so have a ton of spare artillery guns and shells to sell to Russia.

The Piccadilly Gardens Problem - new development proposal (P32)

Crime and disorder can be stopped if the political will is there. Times Square in NYC was once a hellish place, then it was cleaned up. No reason it couldn't be done in Piccaddilly Gardens.

    TV Series

I always liked Midsommer Murders, always got me how such a sleepy village was so dangerous. A criminologist did a calculation and found that per capita, the village of Midsommer has a murder rate higher than places like Mexico City and the slums of Johannesburg. One minute, a little old lady is...

    Retro Shirts and Copyright?

I see people wearing retro shirts a lot. Sometimes it has the sponsor they had, but not the shirt manufacturer. I saw a guy in the Trafford Centre with the city white 3rd strip from 1995. It had "Brother" on the sponsor, but not Umbro (or indeed any manufacturer) badge. How on earth is this...

    Jude Bellingham

Bellingham is a tool. He is endlessly hyped as a football megastar, and he believes his own publicity. Truth is his entire career is hype; Birmingham hyped him up to sell at an inflated price to Dortmund. Then Dortmund had to talk him up despite average performances to justify the cost. Ditto...

    United Thread | 2025/26

United have a serious issue with goalies. They have been spoiled most of the Premiership era (Schmeichel, Van Der Saar, De Gea etc.), so the fact they have complete clowns between the sticks is a culture shock for them.

    Was Roy Keane overrated?

As a holding/defensive midfielder, Patrick Viera was better, as was Ngolo Kante.
