Can‘t understand how the board saw those games against Chelsea and thought yes we’ll carry on as we are without a striker again this season.
This is the first season for years where we’re not favourites even for these tough games, very frustrating.
Definitely agree we should rest players in the PSG game. We can afford to lose that and should still qualify.
For me the absolute must win game is the Chelsea one. It’s about time we showed those bastards we are better than them after three shit performances against them. We cannot allow them...
I agree the other competitions are more important but given we don’t have a striker I just don’t see us winning the PL or CL this season, unless we sign someone in January which seems unlikely unfortunately.
I think the Carabao represents our best chance of silverware this season, sadly.
It’s Pep, we all know he’ll pick a strong team with maybe one or two of the young lads.
And we can’t afford to get knocked out at this stage either, would be embarrassing. I think there’ll be a reaction after the shit performance yesterday and we’ll win about 4-1.
Maybe this will be a watershed moment like the draw with West Brom last season, after which we went on that long winning streak.
Or it might just be that we fucked up not signing a striker and a defensive midfielder with some energy.
Time will tell I guess.
What a frustrating disappointment that was.
Hopefully the kick up the arse needed to persuade those holding the purse strings that a striker is an absolute must in January, regardless of cost, agents or rival bids.
