    COVID-19 — Coronavirus

Don’t we need to vaccinate more than just the vulnerable...we’re not getting any younger and I wouldn’t want to know this is still around in the future. Anyone with a little epidemiological nous been able to dissect that BMJ article?

New TV for mother with early onset Dementia (need easy to use).

Ahh apologies - I thought this was pre dementia tbh. Now I understand. Yes, my mum does some odd things (and says odd things). I'm the same...I have to try and laugh and turn the conversations around rapidly if they go off piste or angry....otherwise I'm fighting back tears.

Interesting parallels. Why did she send her teeth away though? !

New TV for mother with early onset Dementia (need easy to use).

I've used a One for All in the past (after losing a controller we couldn't replace). Worked v well, so as your above link there's this one too. What I'd need to probably do is program the set so all the channels are as they should be (SD at least): 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 etc... Whether it's possible...

Thanks mate. The year from hell in all honesty. She was such a strong figure (managed the local Citizens Advice Bureau for much of her life) and well known in the community. In fact just a couple of yeas ago she was the local labour councillor (in her late 70's).

Thanks for the replies folks and affirms where I'm up to. Sorry to hear of similar struggles...it really is a f**ker. The set was actually replaced by my cousin a few months back (like for like the only difference being the colour). This was in the belief that the TV was faulty (it wasn't, it...

New TV for mother with early onset Dementia (need easy to use).

Hi all. My mother is in the early stages of dementia sadly (on top of this awful year). She was quite active on her iMac until relatively recently but now technology is a definite no no. However, she loves her TV but it's a tad old and small. The 32" is tiny from where she is sitting so...

    COVID-19 — Coronavirus

Yes - I’m sure there are other proponents of this type of therapy too. I’ve not tried tbf but there’s lots too f interesting data from it. I think being as active as you possibly can and taking the right supplements will go someway towards having better overall health.

    COVID-19 — Coronavirus

Always a worry. Although his cold water therapy fits in with this i don’t know. I used to get ill every single winter. Then I started running (ironically in mid winter a few years back). I subsequently didn’t get ill every winter (and actually, was only last Xmas with that awful coughing flu...

    COVID-19 — Coronavirus

Prof Sharrock (a couple of weeks ago) suggested the vaccine would be rolled out by the Summer. I'm guessing here, but perhaps their hand was played to get some positivity out very quickly given the Moderna/pfizer results (and mRNA method)? There's clearly tremendous pressure here so it's hard to...

    COVID-19 — Coronavirus

The infection rate graph probably aligns with everyones positive/negative feelings over the last week. Pulled right up then back down today (although hesitant to call the AZ news out as negative just yet). What a grim year.

What personality type are you? (Test)

I'm not doing it. I've enough on with this year as it is without casting more negative aspersions upon myself.

    COVID-19 — Coronavirus

Tbh (despite everything) I was feeling a tad optimistic last week with the vaccination news. Now today we have the AZ/Oxford vaccine dipped in a little negativity (although it might something or nothing). And then this Tier system splitting and dividing. Lending votes so 'get something done'...

    COVID-19 — Coronavirus

Ok...we'll do a threeway (employs Kenneth Williams GIF) with you and Tolm. That's already £16.6 million each up from £10 million five mins ago. I know someone in Spain...nowt to with anything 'sciencey' or medical, but he'll add another £40 million (coz stuff) so we're up to £90 million total...
