The ‘Beating You When Were Shit’ Thread

For a steadily increasing percentage of City fans, the answer is...Wasn't born when we were shit.

Champions League: BT extends TV rights until 2021 in deal worth £1.2bn

Can't see it mentioned but it's also being announced that SKY have bought the rights to the Europa and Conference. Also that Paramount won't have excusive rights to all Champions League. Amazon have extended their deal for exclusive rights of the pick of one Tuesday game each round. So to...

Etihad Stadium to host 5 Euro 2028 games

I think your misremembering that last bit. Scotland played England at Wembley and their other two games at Villa Park.

    The Chase

Watched an old repeat last night, so apologies if it was discussed when it was shown previously. But anyway, I think it's the first time I've seen a contestant not get a single question right. He got zero in the first round and then ridiculously went for the high offer and was gone after the...

I’m A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!

New favourite: Aitch, after the ginger one topped the betting since before the start. This new camp looking guy is clear third favourite, so we'll see have to see how he goes.

    Worst pain you've experienced

Been run over and broke my leg in two places. Cracked my ribs, twice. Been smashed full in the face with a baseball bat. Fell off a ladder and broke my arm. Had what they used to call a slipped disc and could barely move for over a week. But all that was like a tickling party compared to this...

Possibly, I was thinking more about league grounds. Although we did go 30 years with only what, 2 trips, Chelsea and Gillingham?

Etihad Stadium to host 5 Euro 2028 games

There were loads of extra trains running late at night during Euro '96, to get football fans back to where they were based. Can't remember who was playing now but I caught one from Sheffield back to Manchester at about 2 am after one game at Hillsborough.

The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

I don't think that is true. I'm told that drivers have an agreement to work Sundays now. Roughly £500 a shift, depending on how many hours they need them for obviously, and they have more than enough volunteers to cover any work. It's the guard's they cant get to work Sunday's and haven't an...

City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

They'll find a way round anything anyway, even if it did affect the way football clubs are currently operating. Under the Sunday Observance Act, it was against the law to charge an admission fee to watch a sporting event on a Sunday. Sports like cricket and Rugby League got round that by making...

City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

One obvious problem with this is that tickets don't always have a set 'face value' anymore. We saw all the publicity over the Oasis tickets recently where the official price suddenly increased mid sale. Even at City, they regularly sell the same category tickets at different prices at different...

The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

it doesn't get as much publicity these days but I think Northern Rail are still hampered by their staff not being contracted to work any Sundays, combined with the company not offering them enough money to tempt enough of them to turn in. According to my mate on the railway, they've more or...

    TV Series

Bit of a random thought I've just had here at work after a a couple of episodes of the excellent 'Family Guy' came on the TV. As well as 'Family Guy', you've got 'The Simpsons', 'American Dad', 'South Park', 'King of the Hill'. And that's just what's immediately come into my head. I'm sure...

I wonder which ground we've played on the most in say, the last 50 years? I thinking maybe somewhere like Newcastle who've spent most of the time in the top league, but had a couple of relegations that have coincided with ours and quite a few cup games?
