    24 | Joško Gvardiol - 2025/26

Big test for Viana - JG, as others have said, has the talent to be genuinely world class. We need players of this standard to win leagues and champions. Even more so since with have lost Pep and his genius. We need to keep Josko and if we do then it will be a good indicator that we still mean...

    47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

We all love Phil, we all want him to succeed. We know he has the quality to do it and hopefully he finds some answers. But this isn’t without risk. What message does getting a long term contract and pay rise on the back of two very poor seasons (6 weeks pre Xmas aside) send to others across the...

    47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

Did ok tonight but a sad ending. Albeit I think a summer off is probably what he needs. Just so sad to see him like this. Hope he can re find his spark - I think trying somewhere new might even be entering his mind.

    Liverpool Thread | 2025/26 | Iraola becomes unlikeable (p397)

Top top player. Our games v Klopps Liverpool are some of the best games played in the PL. Salah was key to that and the rivalry with them will be longed remembered. It helped drive City and Pep on. Lots of mindless rubbish posted on here when we should probably just acknowledge a top player.

As above - there are probably better right backs than MN out there but they would cost 70m for a narginal upgrade. Given the midfield issues we need to focus the resources there. So either a young player to develop or even an older player as an option the way forward. MN has been superb and may...

    47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

The saddest/scariest/notable thing is that when Phil wasn’t on the team sheet it didn’t really raise any debate. Whilst we want him to succeed currently there isn’t much to go at in terms of an argument to pick him.

    10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

Showed he is made of the right stuff to play at this level. About his best game for us in the biggest game. Let’s put a structure around him to get the most from him.

    15 | Marc Guehi - 2025/26

Guehi will come good and be a top player for us. Had a tough for fortnight but I think this will be him getting used to playing the volume of games, the intensity of demands and the occasion/level of the champions league stages. He will be fine - he is a driven and intelligent bloke and will be...

    Real Madrid (H) - Tue 17th March, 20:00 | CL | Pre-Match Thread

There is always one really mad game in the CL knock outs. We have been on the wrong side of a couple of them - maybe it’s our time?

Hugo Viana | Director of Football

Indeed - decent signings and decent players. Decent players don’t win leagues.

Hugo Viana | Director of Football

Considering viana has 6 months planning and prep time before he joined us his start doesn’t inspire any confidence. The signings just aren’t good enough to get us back to the levels of recent time. Donnarumma has had a good season and Guehi has looked a solid premier league defender. That aside...

    7 | Omar Marmoush - 2025/26

Bit harsh - surely he cannot be judged until he has a proper run of games? Plus it can’t be easy playing up front with or off Haaland.

    47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

This is it in a nutshell. Top level sport is about data, money and objectivity. No sentiment. The argument is we have a player who has been poor for 2 years, not been value for money and now wants a pay rise and us to commit tens of millions to. Or we sell him for 50m and bank the profit and buy...

    Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

It’s an accepted point that the game has evolved and pace and power is needed especially in midfield. Yet within the last 12 months or so we have spent 100m plus on Nico G and TR who aren’t physically up to much. Some serious questions need asking about who have really owned and overseen the...

    Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Pep got it wrong last night but his thinking seems sound ie try and get ahead in this tie as mbappe, Bellingham and others will be back in the second leg. Fede Valverde had the game of his life and conpletelt changed the game. He stepped up and took the game by the scruff of the neck - we don’t...
