How come we used 4 subs yesterday?

Have I missed a rule change or summat? Not the most important question to come out of yesterday but am curious.

Yep. New rule for the quarters, semis and final this year.

You can use a fourth sub because its part of the new rules.

Just like that other new one - when a ball doesn't quite go over the dead ball line you can say it did if needs suit !

Plus the other new one that states if a City player is fouled, goes down in the area it isn't a penalty and any fouls on City players anywhere on the pitch are to be ignored especially when one of City's players gets injured!

We should have tried to get a fifth and sixth sub on and then replayed the game - with a different ref. A woman ref, perhaps!
