In the same boat but was due to my probation not being passed

Manager lied through her teeth at every meeting had, training was mediocre and got a strong suspicion they just wanted me out as another colleague passed her probation but made far bigger mistakes than I ever did

As previously advised speak to your union if you are a member if not there are plenty of employment solicitors who will do 1 hour free then if they feel you have a case would take it up on no win no fee or even acas.

From my experience I have found that there can be some very dodgy thinks go on with people who been employed for less than 2 years as they have very little rights.

People who have been employed for longer get more rights and as such the company is more reluctant to dismiss unless they are comfortable they are in the right.

I'm not saying this is the case with your situation as different companies will have different policies.

As a poster pointed out It now costs you £1200 to go to a hearing, however the onus is on the company to prove that they have followed their procedures to the letter. I have known it where someone was dismissed and it was 100% the correct decision to do so, however the company failed to follow the procedures with regard to documentation and as such lost the claim.

It can just be down to personalities sometimes. If your face doesn't fit or you're simply outspoken then you'll be gently shunted out. Overlooked for important duties, secondments, promotions etc. They don't need to give you a reason to let you go at probation but it's professional to.

We had an absolute whopper placed with us in a previous company and he tried to blame it all on an innocent 19 year old girl. An office junior. We had to make security escort him out before collecting his things for him because we were convinced he was going to attack her. The allegations (and aggression) were that bad. He simply hadn't done what was asked of him and made too many howling errors when he had.

As said already, two years is the golden rule and really we'd need details before we could begin to pass comment on what rights you have. Just use your imagination when you're applying for new roles.
