Are you on this photo? City getting promoted at Blackburn in 2000

I was in the Darwen end that game, always a good aways there. Fernhurst was a good boozer till they turned ruined it. Some good pubs there from Darwen railway station. Got absolutely soaked to the skin one game. Been several times, had some really good times.

Was this the game we had Darwen end and both side stands to halfway line? My memory isn't that good, especially when I've had a skimful at games.

The only occasion I've been "escorted out" by the police after running down the stairs in their end, barging the drummer out of the way in the process, when the Goat equalised.

A policewoman let me go when a bit of argy-bargy broke out so I dived straight back in to the stand. By then we'd got a second and every blue in the stand had made themselves known.

Ha ha I had forgotten that it was near me. I can still visualize the big gormless drummer, glasses on I think, going arse over tit. A few of our lot ran onto the pitch a couple of times I was going apeshit shouting for them to get off as I feared after doing all the hard work it might get abandoned!

Alright. Never saw the tv fall, it was there one minute and not the next so thanks for the correction. Don't know what happened at Horwich but it was definitely Bolton's Trinity Street (been there enough times) where we saw some bother and these ordinary Bolton lads, not in a firm, were outnumbered. Happen it was you the missus got upset with as the train got into Manchester - and no, mate, no number for you that time.
No pal. It was defo Horwich and defo a firm so it must of been different trains. We only got off because they were on the platform waiting. We then waited for next train. For the record, I was never into fighting anybody unless it was a fair fight and would of NEVER been involved in 3 opposition fans getting done in. That's a shit house trIck. Looking back it was very silly, but we've all been young hey. :-/

Yeah I was in the Main Stand (I think) - upper tier. Blues everywhere. I had my City short under my jacket but after we scored I just took it off as there were more blues than Rovers.

After the third went in we went down to the front of the stand and just conga'd for the last 20 minutes.

Probably my most enjoyable day as a City fan. But twitchy at first but done long before final whistle so could actually enjoy it in the sunshine.

Add to that the bond between fans and players. Look at them all as they all come into the stand after the game - all singing the City songs. How many of our current team do you think know the words to our chants?! Different worlds obviously.

I was in the Jack Walker Stand. I was close to the corner flag and there were lots of City under cover in there. I remember queuing up outside the turnstile pretending to be Blackburn and then realising that there was a lot of City doing the same. City fans were walking past asking to buy my ticket.

I don't remember too much about the game. I went on the pitch, but not with the first surge, just when I knew it was safe.

I also remember almost collapsing with exhaustion at Mill Hill station afterwards happily waiting for the train back to Manchester.

Little did we know we'd be relegated the next season. Still we were almost there. I don't think I'd ever known the good times. I started supporting City properly since about 1976, and it started to go wrong from about that point pretty much 30 years of disappointment. I remember many days of tears and tantrums at the weekend. Shrewsbury. Halifax. Halifax was particularly bad because there were always those Halifax building society offices everywhere I went reminding me of the result.

Still we can look back on those bad days fondly now. I'll always remember with pride how all those City fans just refused to give up on their team. Best memories opening day of Division two against Blackpool. A sold out Maine Rd in August Sunshine. Awesome. And of course Wembley way after the Gillngham final, and the trip on the train back to Manchester. Nothing of course comes close to the Aguero moment. I think I might just have a peep at those videos again. That season was special. City miles clear. getting reeled in by Utd. Them passing. Hope fading, culminating with defeat at Arsenal, only for City to claw our way back, and then just when the title seemed to be in touch we seemed to be about to throw it away in typical City fashion. And then Balotelli with his first assist of the season. That season had everything. I prefer this one though

A few of us were in the railway vault in Hale. It got messy.

My dear old dad had asked me to look after my brother (bearing in mind he's 7 years older than me!) but I lost him, he decided to stumble off to some female work colleague's house and make a nuisance of himself. I suspect she told hoim to bugger off as he somehow turned up at his house in Northwich in the early hours, whilst I was pounding the streets of hale and altrincham trying to find the silly arse... at least we won!

I was at the opposite end right at the front of the top tier in the blackburn end with it seemd like a stand full of blues cheering us on.

Magic day, i just knew early on the game even when we went behind that we were gonna do it and boy did we do it.

I fvcking loved that team and big joe as manager.

Home end for me sat with Blackburn fans, away end was to my left. Went up on my bike so was in leathers, funny sod on the gate wanted to know why I had big boots on thought I was going to explode when we scored then realised that the majority of the stand was City good day out
