United (H) Post Match Thread

At the end of the day nothing really changes as a result of that, we will win the league at some point but this week has seriously tainted our season. We've gone from debatably the best side this country has seen to simply worthy champions in a week.

Unless we perform a miracle on Tuesday, this season will be remembered in years to come as the time a great City side fell apart within 4 days. Nobody will recall smashing good sides throughout the season and going on a ridiculous wining streak, they'll remember getting stuffed at anfield and throwing away a 2-0 lead against our rivals in a game that could have won us the league.

Both the players and Pep are equally at fault for this. He's got the lineup wrong twice and the players have shown they lack a backbone twice. To give away a 2 goal lead at halftime when it should have been 4/5 and lose 3-2 is pathetic. After they took the lead we didn't even look like scoring again either just like in the Liverpool game.
You nailed it, yes we might win the league in three or four weeks time but the gloss will have gone off it and what state of mind will they be in for Tuesday, I worry for an even worse bad spell coming up which instead of being lauded as amazing could see us derided as over rated. So loved the glory of people saying what a great side now we could be remembered as a side that fell over the line hope not but it's going to need amazing strength to turn these two results around.how does he plug this leaky defence

We did 'boss' the first half. They had one touch in our penalty area. We still have a very soft centre when teams go for it and our best players have gone missing at the most important time of the season. The team is done this season, they look flat and jaded and it's a good job we have such a big gap.

But that loss was down to one incompetent (at best) man and he doesn't 'play' for either City or United.
We weren't flat and jaded in the 1st half. We just missed chances, and if you don't do that when you are missing players, then you will get punished and that's what happened.

We'll be back.

Guardiola's team selection was fine.

Two up at half time. Created three easy chances. Sterling twice and Gundogan header. Even if just one went in its over. The team he put it out played great in the first half but didn't put the game to bed when they had to.

3-0 gives you breathing space. Not that we expected needing it.

And there lies the problem. When we get under pressure the defence collapses. 2-1 should have been a warning sign....stay calm and stop being careless with the ball. But then we concede right after and this team lost its shape.

The ref was shite but fuck the refs. They've been shite all season but we have come through in spite of them. Today we fucked it.

That was a once in a lifetime chance. I'm gutted.

As others have already said, we seem to have lost our shape and style of play of late. Our pressing of the ball is seemingly non-existent at the moment. Our players are presumably exhausted.
