How do we get better next season?

I see Pep going for
1. Top level striker - that can take place of Aguero when he is injured or rotated out. Jesus may take few more years before he can fill that role.
2. Midfield player who can be same level as Fern - that would be Yaya's replacement
3. Strong defender - do not see Kompany injury free through whole next year
4. Midfield replacement for Gundo - he cannot fill in KDB or Silva positions without negatively impacting team's performance

Bailly, Matic and Lukaku?

Similar but better. In midfield and attack we can be a bit lightweight when things get tough and Plan A tippy tappy isn’t working. A new Yaya and young Zlatan would be great.

You could not be more wrong. Our tactical set up worked brilliantly last night in beating their high press, their front three didnt get the ball and Liverpool barely had a shot in the first half. The reason things went to shit in the 2nd half in my opinion was: Peps sending off, fatigue and he fact we got robbed of a 2nd goal.
The tie hinged on two things:

1. Pep being conservative and playing Gundogan in midfield rather than a more attacking line-up at Anfield like last night. Last night it worked. Rather than sitting back, playnig to their strengths and letting Liverpool press us high - we pinned them in their half. Those 30 minutes at Anfield when we played negatively suited them and really cost us.

2. Refereeing errors cost us big time. Sane's goal was wrongly disallowed for offside at Anfield. The match would probably have ended 3-1 with an important away goal. Same happens again in the return leg to make it 2-0. If the referees don't make mistakes the tie is 3-3 at HT with City going through on away goals. Unlucky is an understatement.

Doesn't detract from a fantastic season. They won't win it as they can't be that lucky again. We'll win the Premier League and I feel we have a great chance of doing so next season. The fact it hasn't been a procession and our season has faded out somewhat gives us something to aim for next season. Had we won the league and CL we would more far more susceptible to complacency and the whole "second season syndrome" thing next season.

We wont sign a striker. Dont understand why people think we will. We will sign a wide player capable of playing through the centre, not a no.9 like Lewandowski. We play 4-3-3 most of the time, so no room for 3 pure strikers in the squad.

In terms of the PL hard to get better imo this is a special season when we can enjoy 10+ point lead.

even if we improve the squad and our play it would a miracle to have like 30-1-1 record after 32 games.

So its possible that we gonna had a much harder season next time, always hard for Champions to deliver another title, look at Chelsea I am sure they wanted to kickon, improve n their title win now without any chance for CL Contr about to get fired etc.
Lot can happen in 12 months.

Expect next season to be much closer for the title, where i think there is place to improve is defending the way our defenders react to attacks. That has to improve and its not personnel problem. Another 2-3 50-60m CB's can arrive and they will be turned and made look like idiots sometimes.

Also Alexis, Mahrez bids show where we wanted to improve the squad. Get someone of that ilk clearly.

Fernandinho replacement much needed too. Yaya is a waste of space this season, we cant use him even for 10 minutes never anymore, he is putting away 200k/week for it.

Agree with that. In the future, we must me more ruthless, so that referee decisions wont cost us that much.

Why not? Worked well enough at Bayern. He's hardly a lump, and we're not saying go for Crouch or Fellaini, but anyone last night could see we'd of scored a few from crosses if we had a taller, stronger striker.
