I read that after players dropped out of a squad Southgate called multiple players to come in and they all declined. Then he called Livermore who was on a family holiday and came back straight away to join the squad. So now Southgate likes him as he can rely on him and he wants to be there. Makes sense because he is bang average.

Why would it be strange? He's wank and Southgate hasn't picked him in ages, even coming out and saying he's not good enough on the ball to be in the squad. Pretty surprised anyone would pick a Jones and Smalling CB partnership tbh

Yes which is why I said they are good enough to get out of the group and not much else.
City and Utd have conceded the least amount of goals this season. Smalling, Jones and Stones have all played their part in this.
Stones and Maguire, because we don't have David De Gea in net to save all the chances Smalling and Jones gift the opposition. We have Jordan Pickford, who specialises in not saving shots when his teams defence lets him down, yet avoiding all the blame.
