And also years ago if you had first game at home you would be away last and vice versa.
What happened to that rule??

I don’t believe it was a ‘rule’ but it was certainly commonplace, just as alternate starting at home or away each season.

A couple of things strike me. Arsenal have 9 players at the World Cup. Less than us but the core of their team will have very little time with a brand new manager, new systems etc. Although we’ve got more at the WC they are all very familiar with how we play so can easily slot back in.

Their only player of consequence at the WC is Ozil

I think the first few games are all winnable but I wonder how many times since 2000 have the champions been away from home first game?

Its strange because United seem to have been home first game and home last game for the past few years but I may be wrong

Can’t believe the complaints here.

Easy first few and last few games which is important.

There will be always be tough stretches but playing most of the top 6 away in the first half of the season is a major advantage.

Feeling more and more confident of back to back titles
