Southgate spent time with Pep studying the keeper playing the ball out from the back and I bet Pep said Stones was his man to aid this.

Was nervous during the Colombia match but this one felt comfortable all the way through. Excellent team performance again, although think we could still be a little more adventurous with the ball in the final third, but overall was delighted. I’m even stating to warm to Lingard which is er worrying.
Fans in the ground were good with him as well, by all accounts.Wow all the pundits on BBC giving such great reviews. They know how much he did today. Thanks Rio, Alan, Jürgen & Gary.
