Don't be ridiculous.
It was a mistake to lose his man.
It was late in the game and players get tired.
But in relative terms other players made bigger errors

6 games. Beaten the might of Tunisia, Panama & Sweden in normal time. Beaten a world class team in Colombia on penalties. Lost to a second string Belgium and a pretty average Croatia.

We need to fucking get behind stonesy now. he was an absolute lion out there, trippier fucked up and he made one mistake. if it wasnt for him england would have gone home in the round of 16.

actually very proud. we don't have the level of ability of other teams but we fought for every inch and worked very hard. all 4 city lads did themselves proud

They had the lead and should have been capable like France did to hold that lead but they bottled it.

Our formation was wrong for that. When they came on stronger we kept setting deeper and our wing backs were not accupying the right areas and our midfield was far too stretched to close down the spaces where Croatia were playing. There should have been another midfield body in there and the crosses for their goals may have been closed down.

If we’re being honest, we are truly shite. We have great spirit, great heart and, for once, great togetherness, but ultimately fuck all in terms of quality. The top and bottom of it is we skilfully failed to win our group and got an easy draw. That’s it.

Congratulations to Croatia, overall they were the more threatening team in the end.

England lost their mojo when Raheem was taken off, he was a threat all game when he was on the pitch. Unfortunately Southgate decided to let the Sun/Daily Mirror do his game management for him and brought on the tabloid favourites, rather than leave Raheem on the pitch. We lost because of that single decision.

You're are so right. It was instantly obvious from that point on that we had sacrificed our only real outlet for an overrated Raggy media darling. And anyway, even if he was going to put Rashford on, it should have been a straight swap for Kane. Only Kane is an even bigger media darling than Mr Tottenham Gashness.

True but Stones error led to the goal, watching the ball instead of the player's position (Mandzukic) led to the goal, Mandzukic saw the opening Stones left and ran into that space for the goal.
