Because each season is a new one and we're very thin in the position he would be covering? Also Fernandinho is 33, played a ton of games last season, and looked gash this world cup?
Looked gash this World Cup? Got one game plus about 10 mins as a sub, fucking weird

De Laurentis at Napoli and Levy at Spurs. Nightmares to deal with on transfers.

Had a feeling this would be a case & if City really wanted Jorginho badly they would need to overpay a few months ago & seal the deal with Napoli before the Sarri drama with Chelski began.

In the end the stalling over whatever the price discrepancy has cost us getting a player in time for Pep's preseason desire & left us now with less leverage in the transfer market since undoubtedly any player we are now interested in for this defensive midfielder position with 4 weeks till deadline day will be inflated. Just like the stock market & mortgages (sometimes) it’s in the interests of the buyer to pay over the odds to avoid the uncertain future price fluctuations, if the investment need is greater in the long term.

Done and dusted...

Lets see how we react. The club need to pull something out of the bag here.
