The consensus of opinion is that if we had a more creative midfield that would make us a world beaters. We used to have an embarrassment of riches in that department and that didn’t work. Supporting England and city used to be frustrating, now it is just supporting England.

We did OK, considering the midfield or it's non existence. If we can get better players in there, who knows how we can play.
You can't forever live in the past, for examples.

That’s exactly what I said to Mrs S watching the game. These three were the most consistent performers + Maguire was fine as was Kyle. That’s half a team + Raz Who will perform in direct relation to the quality around him. Realistically England need three good midfielders before they can challenge. Phil might be one of them but Ali and Lingard are not and never will be.

Kyle was fine but if England are to keep the back 3 he should be fighting with Trippier over the wingback spot.

I don’t know why we never tried Sterling AND Rashford, especially given how poor Kane and Alli have been in the last three games (possibly because neither were fully fit)

Lets face facts, a young team, young manager that had in the main, the pro active balls to try and play the right way. However, we beat who we should beat, scraped through on pens against a mid- rated team and lost 3 games to better opposition including one of the favourites twice. The media/‘ it’s coming home ‘ bollocks ended like it always has done before. The organisation who called it right were Paddypower. I like them, they take the piss out of everyone and don’t generally cowtow to the rags/ dipper masses. Was it an enjoyable tournament?.. yes! Did it end realistically for England? Yes! Should GS be given the time to build on this? Yes again! Oh, and should Glen Hoddle be banned from football punditry and made to do unpaid work for the disabled for the rest of his working life? Definitely a yes from me. The whiny voiced know-all winner of WC 2018 golden c&nt trophy!

He scored one goal more from open play than Stones did ffs.
Kane is just a greedy bastard who is all about personal glory and that's why his medal collection will be very very poor.
Aguero would outscore Kane if he was as greedy and selfish as him.
Definitely not a team player but he will score goals for teams because he is all about Harry.

It doesn’t matter how he scores. He just does. And continuselly. Sorry but that is one of the biggest assets you can have , there are not many like him
