It ruins our league as well, but we gloss over it.The likes of Neymar and Mbappe take it one stage further but every player of every side dives or play acts, it's ruined this World Cup for me.

Eh? Croatia were the better side in that first half. Two shitty reffing decisions knocked the stuffing out of them though. They never looked like getting back into it after the penalty.Tactically Croatia was actually a mess in the first half. This is by far the strongest team they will face.

France probably deserved to win over the course of the tournament. They went undefeated, on the tougher side of the draw, won their knockout matches without extra time or penalties. Croatia had the easier draw and had to go to pens twice and ET once.
However, Croatia were the better team on the day, dodgy referring, dodgy implementation of VAR (or no VAR in the case of Griezmann's dive directly leading to a goal) cost them bigtime. Definitely not an unexpected result, but it was the manner of the result and the obnoxious manner of some of the French team that really make it feel ugly and unjustified.

When you get 2 dodgy calls like that, even 2 50-50 calls that both go against you and both lead to goals it's hard to come back from that. It also changes the entire game when those dodgy calls force you to chase the game, then leading to counter attacking goals from the other team that likely wouldn't have happened had you not been chasing the game. Thought Croatia were really stiffed. On the other hand Croatia, if you consider the tournament as a whole Croatia really rode their luck to make it to the final while France were pretty comprehensive throughout the tournament.Eh? Of course he deserves his awards. Ask any player in either squad wherever they think he deserves his medals and I’d wager their answer would be different to yours.He’s right that he doesn’t really deserve either award but he’s far from a wanker!
You can’t underestimate team morale and Mendy has given both City and France it in spades.

Don't agree with that, they were spot on in the early going with their pressing and possession game. They defended the set pieces poorly, that was their downfall but in open play they strangled France in the first half. France had 1 shot on target, from the penalty spot.Tactically Croatia was actually a mess in the first half. This is by far the strongest team they will face.
