Really not that bad an outing when you consider everything; they had a stronger team out than us and they are further along in their pre-season (this was their 2nd pre-season game). We still tried to play, with a lot of players not use to each other or the system.

The officials were shite, how they finished the game with 11 men I'll never know, 1 leg breaking tackle missed and Nmecha was well onside which would have resulted in their centre half getting sent off.

Can't get too hung up on the result, hopefully we get some first-teamers back for the next pre-season game.

Mentions for Eric Garcia who was very good and I thought Humphreys was great when he came on. Bolton was decent considering he was in an unfamiliar position and Harrison put in a decent performance.

Won't mention the bad performances, it's only the 1st pre-season game and we know who wasn't great.

Meh, kids played well but lacked a final ball, 2 woeful offside decisions against us, one which would have seen Dortmund down to 10, happy enough. Very impressed with Garcia and Harrison. Diaz disappointing.

Mahrez was poor foden as well.garcia looked a prospect .nimecha is awfull.liked the look of dahoud for them.and bolton markes sancho well.over than that not a lot of positives other than match sharpness.

Were they poor, or just barely had any real touches outside of the halfway line to do anything?

I think Foden showed some deft skill in some situations that stood put. Mahrez had that free kick before half time that he could have scored from if not for a good save from their keeper.

Diaz gave the ball away more than either trying to dribble, and that is considering when Mahrez passed it straight to the opp once.

Nmecha was awful?

That is a shocking take, he was one of our best Players? Mahrez and Foden played well too, far better than Diaz, luiz and Zinchenko who all struggled.

Still, it really doesn't matter. Bring on the dippers!

Edit: shout out to Bolton too, absolutely brilliant 90 minutes lad. For a young winger to play full back and shut down sancho as he did was a great effort, and that recovery tackle in the 2nd half was natural defending. Pretty sure Luke is a blue, and he gave it 110% tonight.

Joe's long distribution was impressive, but he was kind of forced to kick it long as his short game just isn't up to scratch. For a player in the shop window he did very well.
