His contract with Schalke ran out, and apparently the relationship between player and club was not good. According to transfermarkt.de Hoffenheim may have some interest, but my guess is he has made himself a bad name in Germany. He is actually a good player, and he even played the last season as DM with Schalke.

Not given the wages his agent seem to thinks he deserves. There is a no doubt a very good reason why only Marseille so far seem to have been interested and they laughed and walked away.

A couple of years ago we were interested in Draxler at Schalke and a German guy on here said that Meyer was potentially the best player on the team.
He's not progressed as well as hoped but still young enough if he works hard at his game and less on his next move. There may be a genuine reason for the impasse between him and Schalke but doesn't bode well at his age.
