Newcastle (H) Post Match Thread

A win is a win!

Take the three points, move on and hope we start to click again!

Sterling was excellent, as was Kyle!

Just got back to the hotel. A very "meh" performance overall, which should have been a lot less nerve racking with Jesus fluffing a decent chance in the first half, and fuck knows what Serg was thinking of at the end. I was in 314, about 10 yards away form those lovable Geordie scamps. As per usual, we got the WWYWYWS chant, which is pretty ironic given their attendances pre the first coming of "Wor Kev". Shooting off at an angle, does anyone on here know the loon in the corner block near the away fansnwho was escorted off the premises in the second half? He would not go quietly; in the end it tokk three or four police officers to drag him out!

And it was good to meet @Vienna_70 and his lady before the game as well.

Not vintage but it's 3 points. Pep seems to be looking for a different style so we can add another string to our bow but it's not happening at the minute. Dont look like scoring at the drop of a hat like we did last season with the standard 2 wide men and a striker. Think we would miss kdb less if we reverted back to that formation and allow bernardo to take his role.

Mahrez looks lost, when he gets the ball it looks like his first intention is to take people on but then he changes his mind and decides he doesn't want to lose it. It's early days and its only going to click for him with game time but we're not far away from the meaty part of the season where he will be needed, has to start offering more.

Jesus too looks well below the rest. He just isn't offering anything to the team.

On the plus side, Aguero is looking fitter than ever, Sterling is looking menacing and Bernardo continues to look sublime whenever he's on the pitch. Can smash every team like last season and that had all the potential for dropped points as the game panned out so fantastic to get the 3 points and keep moving onwards.

Sorry but Mahrez looks completely and utterly lost.
A real dissapointment thus far and had another shocker today. Looks out of his depth currently.

Conserving our energy. Not vintage City but deserved to win by more.

Least said the better. Laboured, sloppy at times but we still got over the line. That’s why we’re champions.
Feel dirty saying it but Mendy, Mahrez and Fernandinho poor today. Sterling, Stones & Walker, very good. The rest were just ok. Need to make the most of the break now. Pep needs to sit down with Leroy and sort any issues out.
