Puma - £650M shirt deal confirmed

We didn’t sign up to Nike they bought Umbro, mainly to get England, which they subsequently disclosed of, We then migrated to Nike. At the time Rags, Arse, and others in PL were with them also Barca
Yes, but about a year in, the rags switched the Adidas and Arsenal switched to Puma, leaving us as the only big Nike-sponsored team in England, and loads of people suggested that us being the only big English club with Nike would mean increased visibility and promotion from them, which I don't think happened. Also we didn't migrate to Nike by default or anything, we still had to negotiate a new deal. It wasn't the same as the England deal where they bought Umbro just to get the England contract.

The money received for clothing is not something important for a multi-million dollar club like City, if you want to receive that money from sponsors, it will make a big difference when it comes to signing clubs like wolves, southampton, etc. but not us.

Do you know anything about FFPR or actually running a profitable business?

I'll repeat this, £60m per season represents 10% of our income. That's a huge amount of money

All the big clubs care who sponsors their clothing, I doubt that Real Madrid, Barcelona, United, Bayern, will change their prestigious brand of sportswear to a less important when they are at the best moment in their history.
You appear to be a little confused if you think the people who run City don’t care about the quality of the brand that will represent them around the world for the next 5 years.

The money received is literally the only reason for having a sportswear partner.

Absolute bollocks.

Wow. If the rags miss out on Europe this season, or even if they get EL, we could quite conceivably catch them financially in 2020. In fact if they miss out on Europe completely then we could well overtake them.

They’ll pull off a mega deal for a new pasta partner in Togo to hold us off.

They haven't got an official accumulated plastic ocean waste partner for the South Pacific yet, that might be worth a go.

United changed several times during their successful period and the others can't change because they're tied into huge long-term deals.

The only thing football clubs care about is the money on offer and whether the kit supplier's distribution network is up to the job. Puma tick both boxes just fine.

Nike> Puma. We as fans will not get any money for the agreement, but we will have a better quality when wearing a Nike shirt.
