Have to agree Bernardo has been really poor for 4-5 games now... he rarely gives the ball away but recently he does it 3-4 times a game. Sure he will come back strong and good but it’s frightening how many players have seemed to have lost form and a bit of confidence of late

Think he’s a bit knackered, which is understandable given he’s played virtually every minute of every game. Pep should have given Foden a few starts to take the burden off Bernie a bit

I thought he was poor yesterday bar the goal.
Almost cost a goal with a pass to nowhere and doesn’t take the game by the scruff of the neck when we need someone to do it.

I’m a bit bored of hearing that our players are tired. It’s about the tenth time I’ve seen or heard this in the last few weeks.

They are elite sportsmen. More than capable of playing two football games a week all season long.

Notice that none of them were tired last season when we were winning and you never hear of the best players ever being tired and needing a rest around any sport in any country?

Messi has played 51 53 55 60 50 46 57 49 52 54 games a season in each of the last ten years; CRonaldo has played 50 47 53 49 53 54 55 51 61 51 46 in 11 of the last 14 seasons and has only dipped below that when he’s been injured (still played 35 41 and 44 games in seasons when he had injuries).

They’re never tired are they?

In the season Kev won the Bundesliga player of the season he played 51 games. Last season for us he played 52 games. Nobody ever said he needed a rest in either of those seasons and pretty much played whenever he was available.

Players only need “a rest” when they’re not playing well. It’s like an excuse. But in reality it’s not a rest they need, it’s their mentality that needs sharpening or their consistency needs to improve. Or maybe they aren’t fit enough and need to stop eating pies, cakes and fizzy drinks for tea every night but you wouldn’t imagine that to be the case under Pep.
