Southampton v Derby FA Cup Replay 16th Jan

One possible solution would be that teams get a certain amount of reviews like in cricket. Checking every inch on every goal totally kills the excitement of scoring a goal. Soton wouldn't have appealed that one. Just seen a line where the defenders shoulder is level with the Derby lad so onside and it would have stood with the appeal system.
His foot was offside so it was offside!

Jesus fucking Christ get rid of all these fucking dinosaurs from the BBC. Some of them aren’t that old but the whole organisation’s sports team are so anti-VAR it’s like they’ve got a panel of 80 year olds on there.

Okay, it was tight, but he was off-fucking-side!

Doesn’t matter if it was a clear yard between them or a nat’s dick’s width. Offside is offside. There’s no such thing as “close enough not to be offside”.
He wasn't though

Who gives a shit about whether the human eye could have made the decision? That's literally the point of VAR, to see what the human eye missed. Yes there are people still debating it because some people will do that regardless of a line being drawn and a guys leg literally being on the other side of it. Have they plucked that line out of their arse, or do they have a computer that can 3D model where the players shoulder is and therefore accurately draw the line? Probably the latter, but I guess they never explicitly tell us.

A lot of peoples complaints are with the actual offside rule, not VAR. As soon as it goes to VAR, they have to back their technology to be either 100% right or not, they can't let some bent pigmol **** see it's offside but arbitrarily decide whether they think it's far enough offside to warrant following the rules or not

The lines at his feet and not at the furthest part of him nearest the goal, his shoulder is playing him level.
Once again it’s only supposed to be used if a clear and obvious error has occurred, you really think that is one?

This is the sort of game that really sorts the football fan from the City fan. And definitely being one of the latter only, the thought of wasting 2 hours of my evening on this drivel doesn’t bear thinking about.

His foot is nearer the goal line, and he can score with his foot! I think that's how they go about deciding these days.

No, they have just said on BBC, they made the decision on the basis his foot is closer to.the goal than the Southampton players shoulder.

You would be happy to call that as definite ?

And it's so certain that a goal.is disallowed ?
