https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-14

On 28 May 2007, at an extraordinary congress in Zürich, UEFA President Michel Platini called upon G-14 to disband, declaring that they were "elitist" and that club grievances could be aired through a new UEFA body, the Professional Football Strategy Council.

The G-14 was founded in September 2000 by 14 leading clubs to provide a unified voice in negotiations with UEFA and FIFA. New members could join by invitation only.

How is this allowed under EU law? Cartel definition:

an association of manufacturers or suppliers with the purpose of maintaining prices at a high level and restricting competition.

Hope City stop acting like bitches and just start the legal process asap.

Wtf why should. Liverpool even behind the campaign. The campaign is coming from Bayern Barcelona and Real 1000%. Over the years they are trying to stop Psg and City.

I wouldn't put anything past Cult FC

Madrid, United, Arsenal, Bayern are all behind it. There have been secret meetings that have excluded ourselves around what needs to be done to stop the influx of new ownership to clubs who are not in the G-14 circle

They haven't been able to destabilise us this season as we have successfully retained the title, now they are bringing to the front the UEFA investigation as a massive PR attempt to destabilise the club and (as they will hope) play a negative impact on the summer transfer window along with damaging our clubs reputation

City response

City have fired back after the article in the New York Times. A spokesperson said: 'Manchester City FC is fully cooperating in good faith with the CFCB IC's ongoing investigation.

'In doing so the club is reliant on both the CFCB IC's independence and commitment to due process; and on UEFA's commitment of the 7th of March that it '….will make no further comment on the matter while the investigation is ongoing'.

'The New York Times report citing 'people familiar with the case' is therefore extremely concerning.

'The implications are that either Manchester City's good faith in the CFCB IC is misplaced or the CFCB IC process is being misrepresented by individuals intent on damaging the club's reputation and its commercial interests. Or both.

'Manchester City's published accounts are full and complete and a matter of legal and regulatory record.

'The accusation of financial irregularities are entirely false, and comprehensive proof of this fact has been provided to the CFCB IC.'
I'm loving the response from city.
It simply says fuck off UEFA you corrupt bastards

The G14 doesn't exist any more so it's irrelevant.

European football lock-down - Just as the established G-14 cartel wants to move forward. closed shop, stopping future club investment thus safeguarding their own longevity forever

From the bottom of the MEN, City Statement, article.

Original typo error from the NYT now edited.

MEN.

The original New York Times article which said the information had come from a source familiar with the case, appears to have been edited, and now carries no reference to any source.

Wow. This needs to be highlighted. Clearly City have them, NYT and UeFA, rattled hence the edit.
The one problem I have with it al is that the reputational damage is being done and even when we are shown to be squeaky clean it will alwya be there to be hinted at by the biaised media.

Perhaps the fact that Liverpool’s second largest owners are the New York Times could have something to do with NYT’s interest in this matter or perhaps it’s just a coincidence!
