Probably issues we’ve raised about UEFA using evidence obtained illegally

I suspect there’s more - conflicts of interest - we will deffo be going for Parry and Gill et al - the fact that we are under more scrutiny than others.... and we have probably found other stuff in the leaked e-mails that incriminate other clubs that UEFA can’t be arsed to investigate. This is going to get very nasty and my hunch is uefa have more than a few skeletons in its closet.

Looks like we have been backed into a corner and will have no choice but to try and clear our name

We’re not going to come through this process without some shit sticking to us.

The likelihood is that we haven’t divulged the whole story when agreeing our settlement back in 2014 , I’m sure legally we are covered which will be our standpoint

Ethically we probably have a case to answer

It also sound like UEFA have bungled the investigation

I would predict a ban which will be overturned on appeal

This will be followed by some people having to resign or risk being litigated by our expensive legal team

This was also under review by the Premier League.

I’d imagine they’ll be more cautious about challenging us as it’s closer to home and impacts their competition to a greater degree if they were to impose a sanction.

However, everyone must know that if we’re banned from Europe then there’s a strong chance we will absolutely dominate the league.

If the Premier League have any sense they'll wait to see what happens with UEFA first.

Reserve the right to say "fuck that, no thanks!" If City end up blocking this and counter attacking with the ferocity Tolmie has alluded to and the Press release indicates.

He should be more worried about being called as a witness and being made to tell a court who his "source" for persons close to the investigation were!

Can he avoid that question in court?

Probably. Press freedom is protected by the right to freedom of expression and protection of confidential sources is a key aspect of press freedom. There are some exceptions but I don't think this is one of them.

Anyway, the delicious thing is that it's for UEFA to tell us who and why. I suspect those are a couple of the "unresolved" matters referred to.

If so UEFA will back of after legal advice.

So this looks like UEFA have already backed down on us breaking FFP rules and are instead trying to ban us under the pretence that City mislead them. How can you have one without another?
What this means is UEFA are saying OK you passed but you passed in a different way than we thought so we are banning you.

That absolutely will not fly. UEFA think they are above the law if that's the game.

Arrogant and stupid. Why not just say you found nothing? The pressure UEFA is under now from the cartel will seem as nothing compared to what's coming from City's side.

How utterly naive.

For all we know this could be the first step in a UEFA clime down. UEFA will know they are fucked but they’ll wriggle for a while but their lawyers will know the leak to the NYT has finished any semblance of a case they may have tried to concoct. We have gone for the jugular again today - it’s the lack of process that will see us see this off.

It's a thought, yes.
The only thing that has happened today is from expecting the IC to pass it to the AC, we now know that the IC has passed it to the AC.
And I agree, UEFA must fear that they are in a no-win situation.
