Greatest ever captain ?

Kompany granted he wasn't captain for the first FA Cup but the 4 league titles 4 league Cups(although in fairness I don't believe he played in them all)and an FA Cup puts him way out front

He didn't have the armband, but we all know he was the true captain of that team.

He was a great captain, leader! After all his injury issues he had the backing of the manager and those higher, the players too! When it became twitchy bum time the one player you needed was Vincent, on the field, not off it. Not single handed but he was so important for the club and team to achieve what we have done. Good luck to him, his family in what seems as a return to Anderlecht.

I'll be chasing a treble Jack Daniels later to drown my sorrows.

Always though Rodney Marsh was a strange choice , great player , but he never wore socks :)

Rodney Marah played for the Tampa Bay Rowdies during the old NASL days. In 1976 they were due to play in the league championship against the NY Cosmos. He set up a plan with his team mates to provide a limo filled with booze and nice looking ladies to wear out Pele and Giorgio Chinaglia. It worked and the Rowdies won the next day with both opposing stars worse for wear.

Vinny is our greatest captain. His personality dominated the dressing room. Gutted is not the word for me.
