Buying the league?

This treble has really riled people. They don't like it!

In respect of the OP, Gabriel Jesus doesn't seem to be there, was it £27 million in 2017?

Nice to see how much Liverpool paid to buy second place though :)

Well even if we bought the titles and won everything (well except the CL), what are they gonna do about it? Cry maybe? That's the only thing they can do.

The only difference between us and the other top clubs is how recently we've been bankrolled.

But it is still all dirty oil money, because we don't take anything at the gates, have no sponsorship deals and no £ millions from Sky, last time i was in the City Store at the Etihad it was empty, and there absolutely wasn't a queue half way round the shop buying merchandise.

:confused:

They will have to get used to it! You’s aren’t going away, anytime soon. The haters can’t appreciate what a great team and squad you got! You’s are a great club and the media and fans of other clubs are just jealous of your success. I reckon it only matter of time, maybe next season or season after before you win champions league too! That will be the final nail in the coffin for your haters haha!

One word: Galacticos!

Show me a decent team that doesn’t improve their squad. Then, ask them why they did it.

If it was anything other than “we want to be better and give ourselves the best chance to win some silverware/stay in the Premier League,” then they are lying!

Football IS money, and has been long before City began ruining football by copying Chelsea and getting a deep pockets owner willing to help finance success, not milk it, a la Glazer Family Business!

League position = £££
Cup run = £££
Europe = ££££££
Success = Sponsorship deals = ££££££££££££

FFP was brought in to stop clubs overspending. Have City done that? Results would say a definitive “No!”

However, those results have created a problem for some clubs because even in the world of billionaire owners, there is always going to be one who is bigger, one who is more willing to spend his money, one who is more committed to the long term commitment to long term profits than others....and they’re all mad we got him!!!

Let’s stsrt with a quaint premise: Everyone wants to play by the rules.

From there, if the rich, powerful, and completely expected winners don’t win, what to do? Change the game? No! Change the rules!

Accordingly, the entrenched interests changed the rules to protect their financial interests. But, even then, there were s couple of savvy businessmen running clubs who had a work around....go out and get massive corporate sponsorship to inflate otherwise reasonable revenues, which, in turn, allowed outsized expenditures!

Damn and blast! They figured out how to play catch up quicker than we were able to pull away from these financial interlopers!!

Not to worry, simply investigate them, put a cloud of suspicion over them, denigrate them, allow member clubs to denigrate them, and continue to attack any weakness you can find in them! Oh, and change the rules again, both for the biggest €€€ competition and the FFP imperative.

It WAS all a big joke, but then they even upped the ante, by exonerating one club (PSG), accepting hundreds of millions of Euros from them for ME TV rights, then electing their boy to The Star Chamber!

YCMIU, do why worry?!

Anyone who tries to take what Sheikh Mansour has built and penalize it with trumped up sanctions will face the full weight of the law raining down on their heads.

To be continued....

Not just winning the treble , but beating the media darlings Liverpool to the league ...who lets not forget only lost one game all season and if extra points where awarded for shots from outside the area ... and if it was the old system of 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw and...and... should get a trophy for highest placed runners up...and Klopp ......and Virgil van Hype...and those famous magical European nights at Anfield..etc etc.. Its European royalty weve pipped to the title here people , not one of your run of the mill riff raff clubs , its like executing Bambi
If only the goal line was a bit thinner.

The media reported that City got £150 million for winning the prem? This can't be right. They have been telling the world and his wife that we are state financed and that our success has been bought 100% by dirty Arab oil money. They may eventually admit that we have other income streams; Champions League money, foreign tv rights, gate receipts, 10 year kit deal, sponsorship deals, merchandise, academy player sales etc. More chance of it snowing this weekend.
