It's Quiet 32 - enter at own risk

Personally don't think we need a CB as the club may think. From what I've seen Eric Garcia and Sandler could step up this season with more games, they play the way we like to play and seem to have intelligence positionally.
Maguire could be money spending for the sake of it, like we did when we brought in Santa Cruz and Bony. Convert Fernandinho into a CB, and even use Walker there if we go with wing backs. Keep faith in what we already have.
You don't believe a word of what you've wrote above. Not a word.

One minute your advocating as to why Vvd is the best in the world and why he would be great at City.

However, the next minute your advocating for City to go into next season with 3 CB, with one of two rookies.

Or for Fern to be converted to CB, so I guess Rodri is up for a60-70 game season with no rotation.

Further Sandler had what less than 3 or 4 appearances so I'd be astonished on here if anybody could say what are his strengths and or weaknesses.

Its not a consistent point of view.

You can't extol about the virtues of Vvd and how he would improve a team but then fail to recognise the peril of City going into the season with only 3 specialist experienced centre backs.

Id give anyone the benefit of doubt having been called American or a Liverpool fan myself on here.

However, I think you trying to hard with the Cruz or Bony references, no City fan would conflate a Maguire signing with those names, particularly as Maguire is not even a forward.

I think I see what's going on here and fair play to you, but my advice would be don't try too hard as the Cruz and Bony reference raised alarm bells, and I'm someone who will give anybody the time of day, most of the time.

The third keeper signing still doesn't make a ton of sense to me if he's going to take a foreign spot. The only way I can see the numbers working out for that is if we bring in Maguire to replace Otamendi. Otherwise, we're past the 17 spots, right?

Kompany out, Rodri in keeps us at 17 foreigners, and if we sign Cancelo he's replacing Danilo, so another like for like. Angelino would count as homegrown and club trained so his nationality is irrelevant. Maguire is homegrown so he won't count against it, but there wouldn't be room for a foreign third keeper unless we got rid of another one of our foreign players.

Otamendi seems likeliest because Maguire's addition means there would be even more competition for playing time than last season, since none of these four have injury problems like Kompany.

I'd say Ota himself will want to leave if we sign another centre half tbh.

Was just about to post similar, if we sign Maguire then Nico will be allowed to leave.

Harry, Stones, Eric and then the youngsters or Dinho as back up, and of course assuming we get Cancelo then Kyle could be a stop gap at CB too.

Anyone good at searching, I’d be interested to see the list of 17 foreigners in the squad again?

Yeah, he'll know he's not 1st choice and any new signing would be ahead of him which is a much different scenario to sharing 3rd spot with a never fit Vinny. Even then he can't have been happy with that, very few clubs in football where Ota wouldn't be first choice.

Bravo
Eddie
Danilo
Ota
Laporte
Mendy
Zin
Dinho
Dave
Kev
Silky
Bernardo
Sané
Jesus
Agüero
Mahrez

We've room for 1.
Delph
Walker
Stones
Sterling

If another home grown player that's not club trained comes in then they'll have to use the 17th spot in CL though. Maybe Bravo could be left out of that squad.

As i have already mentioned previously, buy the best out there, or don't bother at all and make do with what we have.

As it stands
Ederson, Bravo, Danilo, Laporte, Otamendi, Sandler, Mendy, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Silva, Gundogan, KDB, Bernardo, Sane, Aguero, Jesus, Marhez.
That's without Rodri.

Rodri in as 17th.

Delph will be gone, as Angeliño will come in as club trained, so that frees up the spot for Maguire in the home grown.

Cancelo replaces Danilo.

Job done.
