Danilo is surely a 40 mil player in this market. At that he is still a bargin
Not really, we paid €27m for him, and he's played even less for us than he did at Madrid. Getting €20-25m for him would be more than decent. Just depends who really wants him. Been quiet on all fronts regarding him recently

Hi Guys... first post here...

Just want to start off by saying that I'm very pleased that Pep is targeting two more full backs, especially if Danilo is leaving. This is a position which is so important to Pep's system, you could argue that it is the most important position considering what they bring to his system.

1. Both full backs have to be comfortable to come inside to the central of midfield, be good in possession of the ball, win the ball back when needed and provide that midfield dominance on the ball which is essential to the system. Pep loves to play in triangles so the more players around the midfield area, the more options the team has of finding one another with a pass. You have the two full backs just behind the two number 8s De Bruyne and Silva with Fernandinho sitting if needed to provide a shield for the centre backs.

2. The full backs in Pep's system have to be able to attack very well. Angelino and Cancelo are two players who love to maraud forward, have plenty of pace and energy and two players who can create chances at will for our attacking players. I love how Pep's system works when the two full backs bomb forward, the two wingers, i.e. Sterling and Bernardo come inside and play closer to Aguero which creates an overload for the opposition. You have then essentially 5 attacking players in Angelino, Cancelo, Sterling, Bernardo and Aguero pushing the opposition back and flooding the attacking area. The two number 8s De Bruyne and Silva have more options then to pick a pass. This creates a triangle between Silva, Angelino and Sterling and another triangle between De Bruyne, Cancelo and Bernardo. This is why it is absolutely crucial that Pep has the right personnel at full back.

Pep's system is like clockwork. It really is artistry. Genius at work.

Aside the system working the main reason for targeting Cancelo is because Danilo has failed to give Walker the sort of competition Guardiola hoped for. Evident based on the amount of games Walker's had to play despite dip in form.

Not that Cancelo is good defensively but he will keep Walker on his toes, also because he has to fight for his spot in national side and he'll have the incentive of doing so making headlines under Guardiola.
