Community Shield 2019 - date confirmed as Sunday 4th August, 3pm ko

That's about the sum of it hence why it's a bit disingenuous to say there wasn't any trouble.

Just a tad.

People used the semi final v Utd as an excuse not to go and now some are looking for one again not to go.

We get these threads nearly every CS or league cup final and even semi finals.

Just don't go, its ok

That semi was dreadful and for those caught up in it I understand why they wouldn't have wanted a repeat. Having suffered Anfield away days in 70's and 80's I think a Charity Shield is a walk in the park

Gutted I won't be able to make this one. Missed the last few due to being away - suppose I won't be alone. Reckon 20-25000 blues will be heavily outnumbered by a lot of dipper tourists seeking their annual game!

It was “common knowledge” how much it was going to go off v utd & it did!!, i wouldn’t let my 11 yr old son go because of the enevitable trouble that happened, shit house rags at the time will be no different to the shit house scouse ****s this time, trouble again is unavoidable

Your son is twenty now then so is he going v Liverpool.

My lad is the same age, I took him v Utd and my daughter who was 13.

They loved it. A mate even got Ballotelli shirt that day. I have a great picture somewhere of my lad with it on

I’d be iffy about bringing a kid due to our own idiots. I went to a charity shield versus united a few years back and the racist slurs against United Indian/Pakistan guys passing by was disgusting. And then a bus passed with united fans on it and was showed in plastic cups and bottles of drink. I’m sure we aren’t the worst but it’s shameful none the less and I’d prefer kids not to see that.

No chance. We didn't sell out the Community Shield game against the rags in 2011 when Wembley was still a novelty
I reckon our supporter base has tripled since that game in 2011, especially overseas fans (who might fancy a weekend in London) and South East of the UK. I doubt we'll sell out, but if tickets are cheap, we'll probably take more than we did in 2011, despite us playing against a lesser rival.

I doubt we'll sell out though. Who cares though, I'd rather have the option of going or not, as opposed to having no chance of going because tickets are in huge demand!

Glorified friendly, boycott it. Remember the shock of having to fork out 115 or 145 a ticket to those greedy fuckers for the cup final, embarrass them by leaving half the ground empty.
