He already plays the Pep way. It’s just a matter of getting him up to speed on the frenetic pace of the English game. The two friendliest against WHU and TBD will help him see it, but until you experience it full on, I think you don’t fully understand it!Glad we’re getting him in relatively early. We know it takes some players a while to totally adapt to Pep’s style. Nearly every player gets better second season. Christ, we could still be improving. What a thought.
Also, let’s realize, he is not going to walk into a starting role here. There’s a little matter of Fernandinho to get past...and not many do, especially while remaining on their feet!!
This could be an excellent season for him, as he works his way into the side, not too much pressure, but also another strong midfielder to bolster our midfield in Europe, which is where we ship waaaaaaay too many goals.
