Stratagem is, why pay Manchester prices when you can commute in 10 minutes. On top of that Stockport is turning itself into a destination for Beer drinkers to attract people to live in the town.

There is no magic wand, retail will only be fixed when the customers come back. The start is to increase the town centre population. Creating a social scene is just one brick in the process.

heald green is lovely, 5 mins walk to the train station, train pretty much every 20 minutes,and its cheaper to buy than Cheadle hulme

It's the old National building. The new glass structure to the right is a rebuild due to damage from the IRA bomb.

you don't have to stay in heald green,you can travel about, i sometimes get to Gately and even sharston :)
