Are the BOLD players our only home grown players? Does that mean we’re at the limit (17) for non-home grown players in the PL? Is it the same rule in CL?

Basically yes unless we chin off Clownio and use Grimshaw as our backup. God alone knows how we're going to fit Riesgo in if that goes through.

Up to 8 home grown in PL. For the CL it is 4 Home Grown and 4 Club Trained. All under 21's are fine in the CL as they go on list B and unlimited in the PL.

So the break down is Home Grown, Club Trained, Under 21's:
1 WALKER
2 STONES
3 STERLING
4 DELPH

5 ANGELINO

6 GRIMSHAW ?

Does Grimshaw sneak in as under 21? The only issue is Champs League but you can add keepers to that list if they are both injured hence we have always just had 2 on the A list. As it stands 2 maybe 3 English over 21 signings could come in and play PL but not CL .

Think someone else mentioned in another thread that Riesgo was joining to be a goal keeping coach and an emergency backup keeper which does not have to be declared as part of squad.

It’s not ‘up to 8 home grown players’ is it? Surely you could have a full squad of home grown players. It’s just a maximum of of 17 non-home grown isn’t it? So you could also have 17 foreign lads and no home grown?

Grimshaw was in the A-list for the CL last season.

Looks like the club trained home grown players (4 required or squad total is decreased accordingly) will be:

and the non-club home grown players (another 4) are:
WALKER
STONES
STERLING
*VACANCY

So as things stand, we are full up for non-home grown players, have two spaces for club trained home grown players (unlikely to get anyone) and one vacancy for another home grown player (if Delph leaves). So getting rid of Danilo or Bravo and buying replacements in the same positions, look like the only options unless we get home grown players in those areas and then non-home grown players for other positions.

Frimpong’s not even going on the pre-season tour, I guess Pep would have played him if he’s promoted to the first team next season. Luiz price is 15m, and there’s no chance we’ll get 10m for Ambrose. Max worth 3-4m
