I had money on Williams but cashed out after her QF win for my stake back, she didn't look fit enough and was blowing between points.

Although she had a year out, it's two wins in 4 years now. She looks much slower now, but that's not a surprise at nearly 38.

Have to say Halep was bloody amazing. Her movement around the court was just outstanding. A very deserved Champion.

Equal pay for equal work somehow equates to equal prize money for a 55 minute final where the loser had enough energy to play mixed doubles all week as well because the ladies game was obviously so difficult...
So much for equality.
The prize money should be apportioned according to the time the players have been on court. And how long will it be before some joker notices that the two trophies are not equal in size nor shape. The fellahs get that beautifully styled 'proper' pot and the women are palmed off with a buffed up dustbin lid!
