Charity Shield friend, different trophy.
Same trophy, different name.

First Division and Premier League, even with a change in trophy, is still the same thing.

Milk Cup, Littlewoods Cup, Rumbelows Cup, Coca Cola Cup, Wirthington’s Cup, Carling Cup, Caraboa Cup; even changing the actual trophy presented between 1981-1990 and even changing names from the Football League Cup to the EFL Cup - has always been the same thing.

Charity Shield and Community Shield is still the same thing.

He is 17. How many 17-year old CB's play for top clubs or even average clubs in the prem?
He’s no ordinary 17 year old though. For me he looks the best player to ever come through our academy (and yes I rate Foden very highly too).

I’m hoping Foden gets some game time. He could be a key player this season. Pair him with Bernardo and Gundog or Rodri.

City v Villa in 1972, City won
Derby won the league and Leeds won the FA Cup the previous season but both declined to play in the Charity Shield.
City had finished fourth and had won nowt the season before, played against Villa who were Third Division champions.
It's still exactly the same competition, but with a different name. Entry criteria hasn't changed, format hasn't changed, neither has the trophy.
the fundamental purpose of the competition has changed
as has the trophy

Whatever the meaning of the trophy. We win it and it sends a nice message. If The dippers win, it will all of a sudden become very important the press will be all over it and gives them a bit of confidence/momentum going into the season. So winning it by itself is of little importance, but a nice win will do wonders for stopping the dippers before they get started.

3-0 to us

In 2011, we played Utd in the Community Shield. 2-0 up at half time, lost 2-3 by full time having made half time changes. The media were having a wankfest about it saying that it was a ‘message’ from Utd about the season ahead, similarly, Utd fans were getting all giddy about it having lost the FA Cup semi to us a few months earlier. A couple of months later, with our ‘First 11’, we went to The Swamp and won 1-6. We then went on to win the Title. Tomorrow means nothing. It is a pre season friendly and we should treat it as such.

Also Premiership and Premier League. It was the Premiership until the start of the 07/08 season, this is the 13th season of it being the Premier League, yet some people still call it the Premiership!

Nani winner in the 94th - Vinny was wrecked by that mistake

This game will be won in midfield , Bernardo , KDB , Merlin and Rodrigo against Milner , Fabinho , Ox , Henderson and that is a no contest , none of the Dippers midfielders would get into our team , Klopp will realise this after 10 minutes and revert to long ball into channels (a more sophisticated variation of 80's Wimbledon) hoping that Salah falls over.
The Dippers only successful tactic against our team has been letting us have the ball for 75% of the game and play on the break , if they try to pass the ball they are f*cked , we need pace at the back and if Laporte is missing that is big problem , Otto and Stones are not the quickest but are full backs will be fine against TTD and the Jock. Klopps game is based on 99.9% workrate and closing down and they will not be at the fitness levels to implicate this on a Wembley pitch on a hot/sunny day , they will tire , so i expect us to win this game in the last half hour, because we make the ball do the work.
