Football Rule Changes Next Season

Just for clarity LOL

If a goalkeeper takes a goal kick and it then directly hits a defender on the head, & the ball deflects towards goal,

If the goalkeeper then touches ball after the defender and ball deflects off him into net, then goal kick is retaken? [eg soon as goalkeeper touches it, decision then is retake]

I don't want to say that'll never happen (because no doubt it will somewhere...) but that will never happen.[/QUOTE]

last 5 minutes of the game. Keeper chips the ball up, defender heads it back, retake.

retake.

retake.

full-time.

Silly to penalise it if you're going to allow defenders in the box because the defending team can just sabotage the end of the game with retakes, just leave them be to punt it if they want.

No chance that will happen

Ref will get the cards out sharpish

Thx for the update, appreciated.

On another rule change, Have IFAB decided whether subbed player on his possible long walk back to the technical area needs or doesnt need to wear different colour bib, as subs do? Subs have to wear bibs, as their presence on the touchline is deemed to cause difficulties for officials in determining whether player is on field or not, so pretty sure a subbed player walking the touchline would be same hindrance but seems they dont but subs still do?

Not heard anything about this, makes sense but you'd need to place bibs all aroumd the perimeter of the pitch to allow players to put them on!

not according to the IFAB blurb about not penalising them.

Dont think it's any as unlikely as a goalkeeper kicking ball at goalkick onto his other foot as Joe Hart did once I recall?

Just trying to see if theres a technical difference, goalkeeper decides to kick long, defender still in area for a short pass

ball hits defender leg, who is still in box, ball deflects backwards off defenders leg towards goal, goalkeeper attempts to

save with his hands but ball deflects off his hands and ends up in net, under new rules is that a goal? If it is, under the

clarification, if the goal kick deflects back off the defenders head, would a retaken goal kick be awarded as techically the

goalkeeper lifted it to defender who headed it back to him or would ref interpret as the defender didnt intentionally head

it back towards the goalkeeper?

By the way, thx mma for the link, see there was another clarification that if goal kick taken quickly eg to gain advantage if attacker

not had time to retreat outside of box, referees apply the standard quick free kick rules as if were normal free kick & not a goal kick

I'd still say it won't happen...

But...

1st scenario - goal (rebound off any part of the body)
2nd scenario - goal (No intention to flick it and head it back)

Kicking the ball against your foot, I'd say, is relatively easy. All you need is the player to lose his footing as he's striking the ball.
