Chips with gravy was quite a thing in the province of Quebec, I discovered. It's pretty good, but they get a bit over-excited about it. Just my opinion. There's a restaurant in north Montreal where they actually queue up to get a table (I did, and yes, it's good). For 'poutine', as it's called.
