Re: Gabby clearly a few times there at the end when he was clearly in an offside position moving forward and it halted the attack as the other advancing players had to compensate.

Because they are pissing about rather than passing it.

He is rarely offside when they get the ball, unless he is coming back.

First 20 mins was a bit hit and miss but we’ve grown into the game as the half wore on.
Still 4/3 players not quite at the races yet and some poor decision making in final third.
First game of season is all about 3 points and getting some fitness into their legs.
A win is the only important thing at this point.

Lack of a proper pre-season really affecting us. Fitness levels are not there yet. Lots of players lacking sharpness. Sloppy passing, giving away possession too frequently.

The better performers are the ones that had little break (Mahrez and Jesus). Walker looks more focused than last season also.

I fear that the Spurs game might be coming too early into the season. We absolutely need to win this in order to give ourselves a little leeway at WHL.

Once Rodri settles into the team and gets used to the league he is going to be immense. His passing is pin point and he has the height and strength to keep hold of the ball.

Silva and de Bruyne, in particular, don’t need to drop back on top of Rodri when we are in possession, especially when the game is stretched. He’ll find then and they can do more damage 15-20 yards up the park.
