That's always the theory behind - "get rid of the howlers" and "introduce consistency". It's theory.

In practice what it does mostly is nit pick at the finest of margins, just like the goal we've had disallowed, making fans even more disgruntled and hateful towards the officials.

The officials then try to enhance the technology even further as a result, which the further increases the hate fans feel.

Idiotic move to introduce it.

VAR will be used as a weapon.

Yep was always going to happen, ffp didn’t work so we have var. next we’ll have rule like hockey where 6 players must be in the defensive half at all times

Any VAR decision that takes more than 10 seconds to rule on has to stay with the on the field decision. If it takes two minutes to decide if a player is offside then that isn't overturning a clear and obvious error.
