Yep. Fucking bollocks to half and half scarves and all that nonsense. I wish no harm to anyone but without a bit of tension, what is it? It's not just a team, or a game....it's where we're from, who we are, of course we get wound up and the self righteousness at times is sickening.

I walked on to Ashton New Road and saw a lot of pushing and showing and plenty of arguments outside the entrance on Ashton New Rd where away fans came out.

Then walked down Ashton New Road got the bus and watched Spurs fans walking down Ashton New Rd with line of Police separating them and City fans. Nothing major happened but there were hundreds involved in a standoff with occasional flash-points. Bus turned off and I assume the arguments continued back into town.

A bit off topic, and I'm not sure where you sit, or how long it takes you to get out, but I walked back to Piccadilly, and shared the last train back to London with the Spurs fans, there were Spurs fans walking alongside me back to Piccadilly, and there was a few verbals going on, but not only did I see no escort, I saw virtually no police until I was inside the station, and I saw no trouble at all. There were police on the (stupidly overcrowded) train, and apart from sort out the odd disputed seat argument, the only thing they did was come round handing out water.

Incidentally the train back was like being in India it was so overcrowded (OK they weren't on the outside), its absolute madness that there is only 1 train back to London after a London team play in Manchester, there are already enough City fans on these trains as it is, why don't they add another train or two ? Its not the first time.

I think there’s a point here.

Fighting at football is utterly pathetic and those who engage in it are morons.

Still, because of the amount of anger I still have now at what happened yesterday, which let’s be honest was essentially us being cheated out of a victory, makes me think that it’ll make people generally more likely of violence.

I’m never going to lash out at another person over football but it’s definitely going to make those that do, more likely to more often and those that could possibly do in certain circumstances, more likely to do now.

Don't condone violence but VAR is well on the way to driving people in that direction. I won't knock your Sumday morning sermon but I hope you have the same reasoned detached rationality if the shite we witnessed yesterday continues.

I doubt Pete would be so calm if spat on or if a spuds fan got in his face. I'm in my mid 50s now and I don't condone violence, I can't even remember the last time I was involved in a skirmish with rival fans at a game. I certainly don't want to see violence at games come back but emotions are rising and it's becoming a powder keg situation now ready to blow. And unless VAR is scrapped or soon sorted out fairly then fans who are usually calm and rational, (bar the acceptable footy fan rivalry banter) will snap. I may have to buy a pair of Doc Marten boots at this rate; )

This could be my last season going to games. The enjoyment is being sucked out of me by faceless officials in a secret fuckin' bunker wording refs up in their earpeace on their bent decisions. Oliver was a disgrace yesterday, but referees are becoming puppets to those in some faceless overruling **** who makes the ultimate decision (it seems)

The biggest enjoyment of going to a game is a spontaneous combustion of excitement t in going mental amongst fellow blues in celebrating a goal, especially an extra time winner. All the pent up emotions of having a shit week at work or/ and being henpecked by the missus etc comes out at a game like opening a can of coke like you've just dropped it on the floor.

However, my can of coke seems to be going flat, especially after yesterday farcial VAR and refereeing nonsense.

I think situations like yesterday, last-minute game changers, are almost bound to lead to violence. They ought not to do -obviously - but human males are not that far removed from the cave, and not everyone can cope with frustrated emotion. It doesn't take the whole crowd to lose its head, just a few, and off you go.

Imagine this scenario. We are at Anfield. Title decider. Winning 1-0 until 90+3 when Salah scores. Oh, but VAR rules it out! City fans start taking the piss. Fancy a walk outside in the immediate aftermath? Or would a few fists (at least) be flying?

These VAR decisions are practically an invitation to piss-taking. Go in a rough pub, take the piss out of the locals, and see what happens. (Sometimes you won't even need to take the piss, just being there might be enough.)

Everyone ought to be man enough to swallow stuff like this, but I practically guarantee that loads won't be.
