It is not another stadium, it is another arena, big difference. The Manchester Arena was built as a multi use venue with ice rink, basketball court etc which all failed but left it not perfect for concerts acoustically or seating wise. The arena attracts audience from across the UK and abroad, there is plenty of capacity for a second venue of that size, placing it next to the Etihad allows for multi use with perhap city branded teams in other sports, conferencing etc
It's the only way we are going to get improved transport links.
With a development of this scale surely they will have to look at an improvement to Metrolink and maybe opening of one of the nearby rail lines.
Why? Over 50,000 attend matches whereas only around 20,000 will be attending the new arena if it happens.
70,000 if events are on at similar times.
Early kick off games and arena evening event?

Well they certainly put the block on City maintaining 60.000 fans at Maine Road, blind eye for the rags though !I'd be very surprised if GMP would allow two simultaneous events.
What evidence is there of a transport problem between Manchester City centre and the Etihad? Not seeing it. Takes me 25 mins walking, or 10 mins on the bus in. A lot more out mind, but it's still OK.It's the only way we are going to get improved transport links.
