Going for a week next Saturday. Never been before. Staying 3 miles out of Lymington, near the East End Arms. Anyone been and have any suggestions on things to do and see there?

So much to do in that area.
Ferry to isle of wight
If you like cars , country houses then beaulei is good to while away few hours
About an hour away you can be at lulworth cove
Bournemouth and poole harbour
Corfe castle
There is a small place called hythe and you can get a small boat from there to Southampton
Lovely part of the country
New forest itself is lovely to just chill out in. We stayed at a place called sandy balls
Good website here

Weird as fuck this. Got diverted through it on way to the game yesterday, looked very nice, came out at Fordingbridge, other side but looks good for pubs and walking about.

Mind out for the wild boar that roam free in the wood.
It is rutting season.

All good calls. Some great pubs and walks to be had in the area. Winchester has some great historical views, Swanage and Pompey are close but both a bit of a bottleneck to get to as traffic is pretty bad there. Watch out for the wild ponies......Sandy balls huh?

Swanage is a pain to get to at moment as sandbanks ferry is out of action. Pompey is great for the day as is the IOW.

Thanks for the replies guys.

We usually go to Cornwall in the first week in September but I saw a BBC programme last year, 'A Year in the wild wood, the New Forest' and thought it looked fantastic. I'd certainly recommend the programme and am really looking forward to seeing the New Forest
