It would befit his status as arguably the best striker in the PL era were he to break the most goals in a season record this year. He’s well on course for it.

There is no definitive measure because so many factors are in play, not least the quality of team mates. Football is subjective.

Let’s just enjoy the phenomenon known as Sergio for another two or three years.
 
The Shearer record is pretty immense and done in different times and it has to be said in teams which weren’t as dominant as we are, Sergio would smash every record going if he did another two or three seasons

That’s the top scorers in English football history, plus scorers from around Europe over recent years who have similar goals to that list thrown in.

There are players who’ve scored 500+ 600+ 1000+ career goals.
