Michael Owen vs Alan Shearer after calling Newcastle a Small Club

Owen is right though. Well supported and a big stadium but surely no club could be considered "A Big Club" by themselves or others if they haven't won even ONE major trophy in 64 years. They came close to winning a trophy on a number of occasions (including 1976 League Cup Final vs MCFC) but nonetheless the facts speak for themselves.

Agree. The shite we get and our history is miles better than theirs. They have won 1 league title (1927) in 110 years and no trophies since 55. Their fans deserted them too until the Halls family money was pumped in in the 90s.

Newcastle and their fans v Rags and their fans? I know who I prefer and it is nothing to do with trophies won.

The simple word 'big' takes on some strange meanings in the football world.
