I watched the '69 FA Cup win over Leicester recently, it was just so weird, like I'd been on the mushrooms.
We used to dream of inch thick mud. It would have been like a bowling green to the usual pitches.I wonder how City of today would fare on the pitches of the seventies.
A short quick passing game would look dodgy in inch thick mud!
With Joe Corrigan being booked for pacing it out. When they measured it with a tape, the spot was just where Joe had paced it to.Or Derby where they had to remark the penalty spot before Derby could take a penalty?
Indeed.I have a relative who is an ex-pro who played in the 60s and 70s, including time in the old first division. His opinion is that the tops teams from then wouldn’t do well in the Championship today.
Newport away last seasonI wonder how City of today would fare on the pitches of the seventies.
