Norwich (a) post-match thread

Massive wake up call for Pep. Gundo and Silva as a midfield duo do not seem to work.
However lets look at the positives. Urmm! We scored two goals.

That was utter shit. Dreadful performance with no real sense of urgency and that defence will lose us....no has lost us the title. Already we're in a position where we have to win every game to guarantee the title. Never going to happen. We badly need Chelsea to do us a favour at Anfield next week. Sad day when you have to rely on others.....

A few players need to have a hard look in the mirror tonight. That said I'd rather be losing a game in September than April

First and foremost, Norwich derserve that...no poor refereeing excuses/VAR, none of that they were lucky..they fully deserved it...they were excellent and we were absolute dogshit today...thats the worst ive seen us play under Pep i think

There were only 2 players that deserved any credit today adn any where near their normal performance level and that was Rodri and Aguero (not cause they scored but their overall game)

the rest were either very average or absolutely appalling...the worst offenders being Zinchenko, Ottomendi, Gundogan with Stones, Ederson, Walker(though at least he put effort in) and bernado not far behind...even the subs were awful including KDB and GJ

The most difficult thing to understand today was not the individual errors (Ottomendi has this in him especially and always has) but the way the team played reflected nothign liek what we have ever seen under Pep. The pattern of play, positional play that we expect and the players have bought into over the last 3 years just disappeared which was shown by the amount of aimless shit crosses from deep into their 18 yd area. There was zero fluency in our passing, players walking around and passing to players who were stood still - it was just shocking and Norwich were full of energy and they took full advantage of it.

We let 2 simialr goals in from corners...both front post headers (Spurs and today) - IIRC both Rodri and Otto were at fault in the spurs one s well (could be wrong) - it was a huge mistake to not buy a centre half in the summer - lots on here know that....Ferna playing back there wont change what we saw today - he has the same mistakes in him as Otto does and we have seen that before as well so unless one of the young lads is ready its going to bight us on the arse.

Likewise with walker and Znichenko.....As good as Canecelo is going forward from what ive seen of him he is defensively suspect so that wont change anything and we know Mendy is but he offers far more going forward than zichenko does and we need him fit...if he cant get fit as nice a guy as he is he needs to be got rid of (though know one will buy him) and an alternative brought in - the fullback situation especially at left back is an issue which we have got away with far too long but every now and again really costs us.

GJ - infuriating how many touches he has to take....the chance at the end that Sterling rolled across the box ....you are an international footballer...if you cant take that on your weaker foot you need to practise more.

We may have to beat Liverpoool both home and away to get close to them as even though they aint pulling up trees they are solid and hard to beat and from what ive seen of the other teams in the prem noone is going to take many points off them...when we play like that we are extremely vulnerable.

Lets hope what happens next is the same as last time we saw a performance close to that - we went on an 18 game winning streak and a 14 game winnign streak respectively.

Not with this back 4 not a fucking chance...

we started with an air of complacency, and we never really shook it off.

It was a game where we passed the ball slowly to one another, and we simply went through the motions. And this was a Norwich team with half their first team out injured.

Shockingly poor from almost every player.

thought rodri out of the starting 11 wasnt bad either..

the subs were all awful as well Inlcuding KDB
Nah Jesus was our best attacker when he found his feet in the game, battled for everything and caused all sorts of panic in their back line. I think he should start the next match to keep Sergio on his toes personally.
