He's great at timing those late runs into the six yard box but a bit one dimensional when he's one on one with a defender. As much as people say we don't need Sané, I miss his ability to beat a player with a trick.
Indeed!

In more open space Sterling is a threat on either side. Against packed defences he doesn’t have the skilful ability to get round the outside and inside and outside enough to have defenders guessing or backing off on the left. He’s always cutting inside and the last two Prem performances the right backs have grown in confidence against him as the game went on.

What I don’t understand is that he’s not like that with his left foot on the right, he seems confident to go outside or inside when he’s on the right.

Sané has more natural skill than anyone in the squad and has the ability to do something magic and have defenders on their arses. Sterling’s quality of more exploiting space than pure skill. So he needs to work on being able to do that with his left foot on the left wing.

He's better and more involved into game when he's on the right, imo.
When there’s more space against teams that don’t sit back he’s just as dangerous on the left, but they defended deep and constantly cutting inside against deep defences sees whoever doing it face three or four players within ten feet of them.

Zinchenko didn’t help, he was terrible tonight and didn’t work any sort of space for Raheem.

Walker overlapped and made runs into the Norwich box numerous times tonight and gave us some passing or crossing space all game on the right. Yet Sterling and Zinchenko were really poor.

More than 90% of teams facing City, they sit back and defends deep.

City's best season ( 100 points ) was when Raheem was on the right.

Lacking a bit since the Brighton game. Always seems to get 90 minutes. When its not going for him it really isn't. Over runs the ball time and time again and bad decisions. Still a bit to go consistency wise.

He's been a little lack lustre since the international break , but he has set such a high standard so maybe a couple of quiet games can be expected , first player on the team sheet for me.
