Indeed!He's great at timing those late runs into the six yard box but a bit one dimensional when he's one on one with a defender. As much as people say we don't need Sané, I miss his ability to beat a player with a trick.
In more open space Sterling is a threat on either side. Against packed defences he doesn’t have the skilful ability to get round the outside and inside and outside enough to have defenders guessing or backing off on the left. He’s always cutting inside and the last two Prem performances the right backs have grown in confidence against him as the game went on.
What I don’t understand is that he’s not like that with his left foot on the right, he seems confident to go outside or inside when he’s on the right.
Sané has more natural skill than anyone in the squad and has the ability to do something magic and have defenders on their arses. Sterling’s quality of more exploiting space than pure skill. So he needs to work on being able to do that with his left foot on the left wing.
