A friend of mine went to this one and said he couldn't believe we had won 5-1 with David White hitting 4A Villa game back in the 90’s seem to remember they ran as ragged down the wings, think it ended up 3-0

Always remember the first game of the season in Peter Reids final year 1993
I had a bet on Flitcroft as first scorer and after being completely outplayed for 8O odd minutes up stepped Flitcroft to open the scoring. City being City they still managed to throw it away with an injury time equaliser.
We got absolutely battered that day and I think everyone realised at that point it was going to be a tough year ahead.
